Vivek Oberoi has chastised Bollywood for failing to acknowledge the industry's shortcomings. Even after the tragedy of Sushant Singh Rajput's death in 2020, the actor claimed that the Hindi cinema industry has demonstrated "ostrich syndrome," unable to see that anything is "systematically wrong."
“We have our positive aspects, but we refuse to admit our negative aspects. To thrive, every individual, industry, or fraternity must understand ke hum mein kitni khamiyan hain, our faults, and the industry's flaws. However, we have a case of ostrich syndrome. We don't recognize that hamari industry mein kuch gadbad hai,” Vivek Oberoi told Hindustan Times.
